Romania announced on Saturday that it discovered debris from a Russian drone not far from its border with Moldova, where explosive materials were found, uncovered by the Ministry of Defense on site. The debris was found in the southeastern Galati province, 500 meters from the border with Moldova.

Romania, bordering Ukraine over a distance of 650 kilometers, is facing its first incident with debris from Russian drones in its territory. This occurred last year during the attack by Russia on the infrastructure of Ukrainian ports.

"The debris was found in Galati province at a distance of 500 meters to the southeast from the border with Moldova," the Romanian Ministry of Defense stated in its announcement regarding the discovery of the drone fragments on site.

"Fragments of the Russian drone with one of the means of destruction were found," the ministry added.
