Romania announced in the media that the military attaché and his replacement from the Russian embassy are declared personae non grata due to their participation in activities which, as stated, do not correspond to their status. This came after an analysis of the presented evidence supporting their actions, which can be considered inconsistent with their diplomatic status.
Representatives of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Romania, as a member state of the European Union and NATO, remains committed to respecting the principles of international law and diplomatic practice. Actions contradicting these obligations will not be tolerated.
The statement by the Romanian MFA expresses the country's position regarding Russian diplomats, reflecting discontent and underscoring the unacceptability of their actions.
